BIO
Growing up in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, Johnny Rockhead listened to country music and spent his time in the Wissahickon Valley Park, known locally as “the crick.” After years away from Philadelphia because of his military service, Johnny took up songwriting to express his love and longing for his native homeland of “Philbilly Country.”
His debut album, appropriately titled "Philbilly Country," features 15 original songs, including "Philbilly Country," "Cherry Wooder Ice," "Pool Bar Hero," and "Dancing Boots."
MUSIC
WLDCARD
Johnny’s 1996 Honda Acty, affectionately named “WLDCARD,” is a souvenir from his military service in Japan. Immediately upon his return to Philadelphia, Johnny had WLDCARD painted in blue and burgundy after his beloved Philadelphia Phillies, and then exactly half-repainted in silver and Kelly green for his Philadelphia Eagles.
Stubbs Club
During the Phillies offseason of 2023, Johnny Rockhead had the bright idea of creating a fan club in honor of his Phillies favorite party animal, Garrett Stubbs, named the "Stubbs Club." As fate would have it, Johnny discovered that an Instagram account named the "Stubbs Club" was already created way back in 2018 by a group of fans in Fresno when Garrett played for the Fresno Grizzlies. After learning this incredible backstory, Johnny humbly asked to charter the Philadelphia chapter and the "Stubbs Club" agreed. Slap on a pair of overalls and an empty Bud helmet and come join the "Stubbs Club" at Citizens Bank Ballpark on most Sunday day games in the standing room only section under the Phanavision. Go Phils!
